The statutory organisation will be professionally advocating for recreational fishing and seriously influencing fisheries management decisions to the betterment of all recreational fishing.  Individual members of the Council can then simply go fishing or continue to assist advocacy by supporting the statutory organisation.

However there are three years of lots of work for the Council and its increasing membership.  The Strategic Plan sets out the Strategic Priorities and Outcomes for the Council in addition to identifying the Council’s Vision, Mission and Values.

This Strategic Direction was widely distributed to members of the Council and the 80 interviewees of the review in addition to other interested individuals and groups.  Feedback was welcomed via an online survey.  This survey is still open so feel free to give us more feedback on the Strategic Direction by following this link:

Feedback on the survey was overwhelming positive which gave the Board of the NZRFC confidence to pursue a draft Strategic Plan.  This plan is in draft and will be thoroughly discussed towards ratification at the annual conference in New Plymouth.
